Daniel Germán Ochoa

I build production APIs in Go and Python and integrate language models with RAG and MCP. Before that, I spent 14 years in the Argentine Navy maintaining navigation radar systems under mission-critical conditions.

About me

From navigation radar to backend

I'm a backend developer working mainly with Go (Fiber) and Python (FastAPI) on PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis, with Docker and CI/CD on GitHub Actions. I've built five systems of my own applying clean architecture, asynchronous queues with retries, JWT/RBAC authentication and automated testing.

My current focus is production APIs and language-model integration: RAG, MCP servers and orchestration across multiple LLM providers.

I spent 14 years with the Argentine Navy maintaining and repairing navigation radar systems, finishing as Electronic Repairs Supervisor leading a technical team. From there I bring systematic troubleshooting under pressure, on-call discipline, rigorous documentation and work with a minimal margin of error. What interested me most about those systems was the logic behind how they process information, and in 2022 I turned to software.

How I work

Discipline and commitment are my strongest virtues.

Leadership

To me, leading means empowering a team to own its goals: giving it autonomy and the right tools, and working side by side with it.

Calm under pressure

I was trained to stay calm in high-risk situations and work the problem step by step. That same composure applies to a critical bug in production.

Continuous learning

“Someone else's experience is the cheapest,” so I learn in forums, communities and meetups. I see AI as an ally that frees time for what scales.

Reliability

I take each system end to end and design for failure from day one: retries, health checks and tests, held to the standard of efficient work I learned on board.
